Screabhadh (Scottish Gaelic: scratching, etching, scoring) — the mark left by water on stone, the trace of something that passed through.
A continuous strand necklace at approximately 32 inches, Screabhadh centres on a copper wire-wrapped moss agate focal — its surface a slow landscape of green dendrites suspended in translucent grey-white chalcedony. The copper wrapping is dense and deliberate, a structural cage that frames the stone without concealing it. The strand is yellow calcite rounds, warm and matte, broken by sodalite and red jasper accent beads that echo the copper’s warmth. Copper-plated brass chain completes the construction.
Rooted in Gaelic mythology’s understanding of water as witness — the river that remembers every stone it has crossed — Screabhadh is a piece about marks made and kept. Worn by those who carry their history lightly but never forget it.
