Our Story
Forged from the Deep. Painted from the Archive.
Wesley Ethyn Bowers — WEB — works at the intersection of wearable craft and visual art. Their studio practice spans hand-forged jewellery in copper, enamel, and gemstone, and large-scale paintings that resist easy categorisation. Both bodies of work share the same obsessions: hidden meaning, layered material, and the long conversation between ancient cultures and the present moment.
The jewellery lines — Electric Reef, Forged Reef, Brazen Reef, Gemstone Reef, Artefact Line — are wearable archives. Each piece moves through fire, acid, and tension before it’s finished. Nothing is cast. Nothing is hurried. The ocean and the reef are the primary references, but the real subject is always time.
The paintings operate in a different register but from the same instinct. WEB’s abstract expressionist work draws on Keith Haring’s graphic urgency, Escher’s structural wit, the symbolic density of aboriginal art, and the iconography of ancient cultures — filtered through a distinctly contemporary, popular lens. The result is vibrant, visceral work loaded with hidden imagery: figures and forms that reveal themselves slowly, differently each time you look.
Substrate is never incidental. Alongside canvas and panel, WEB paints on antique wooden trays and dough bowls — objects that already carry memory, already have a history of hands. The painting becomes a second life for the object, and the object becomes an argument for the painting.
Wesley Bowers Creative LLC brings this wider studio practice into everyday objects. This store is home to WEB’s production jewellery lines, apparel, art prints, embellished art prints, and branded merchandise. Original artworks, larger pieces, and more conceptual works are offered on their artist website. Everything is made to outlast the moment it was made for.
