Care Guide

Objects made with care deserve a little care in return. These everyday habits will help you look after our production jewellery, art prints, embellished prints, and apparel. Follow the instructions supplied with your individual item first: mixed materials and hand-applied details need an individual approach.

Everyday jewellery care

Materials used in our jewellery practice include copper, brass, bronze, fine silver, sterling silver, Argentium silver, titanium, wood, enamel, precious and semiprecious stones, and acrylic. Check the individual listing for the materials in your piece.

Put jewellery on after applying lotions, perfume, and hair products. Remove it before swimming, bathing, exercising, cleaning, or working with tools. Avoid prolonged moisture, household chemicals, and knocks against hard surfaces.

Store pieces separately in a dry place, using a soft pouch or lined compartment to reduce rubbing and tangling. Handle chains, settings, and delicate details gently. Do not force a clasp or bend a piece to adjust its fit.

Metals and surface finishes

Copper, brass, bronze, and silver can change in appearance over time. Patina may also be an intentional part of a piece. Gently wipe with a clean, soft, dry cloth after wearing.

Do not assume that a metal polishing cloth or cleaner is suitable for the whole piece. Polishing can remove intentional patina or alter surface detail. Ask us before trying to restore a bright finish, including on fine silver, sterling silver, or Argentium silver.

For titanium, use the same gentle dry-cloth approach. If a piece has a coloured or textured finish, avoid abrasive polishing.

Stones, enamel, wood, and acrylic

Gemstones vary in their sensitivity to moisture, heat, chemicals, and impact. Avoid soaking and do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaning unless it has been confirmed suitable for the entire piece, including its settings and other materials.

Protect enamel from knocks, bending, and abrasive cleaning. Keep wooden elements dry; do not soak them or apply oils or furniture polish without piece-specific advice. For acrylic elements, avoid solvents, abrasive cleaners, and excessive heat.

For mixed-material pieces, start with a soft, dry cloth and ask before using a cleaning solution. Household recipes such as vinegar, lemon juice, or baking soda are not a safe all-purpose treatment for this jewellery.

If a stone moves, a setting catches, or a clasp feels insecure, stop wearing the piece and contact us before attempting a repair.

Art prints

For paper prints, handle by the edges with clean, dry hands and avoid touching the image. Keep prints away from moisture, direct sunlight, and sources of heat. Do not apply cleaning sprays, water, or solvents to the printed surface.

A professional framer can advise on archival mounting, suitable glazing, and a mat or spacer to keep a paper print from touching the glazing. Protective glazing does not make direct sunlight a suitable display location.

Print formats and surfaces vary. Follow the instructions supplied with your print, including any guidance specific to canvas or other supports.

Embellished art prints

Embellished prints include hand-applied details that need care beyond the printed image. Follow the product's own instructions for its support and embellishment materials.

Handle by the edges or structural support, avoiding the decorated surface. Do not rub, brush, erase, wet, or apply cleaning products to the embellishments. Keep packaging and glazing from pressing against raised details.

For paper-based embellished prints, ask a professional framer about spacing that accommodates the hand-applied details. Contact us before attempting to flatten, roll, clean, or repair an embellished print.

Apparel and intimates

Follow the garment's care label and any product-specific instructions. Washing temperature, drying method, and ironing guidance depend on the fabric and decoration. Do not assume every printed garment can be cared for in the same way.

Other products

For other items, follow the care instructions in the listing or supplied with the product. If you are unsure about a material or cleaning method, ask before applying a treatment.
