Artist Statement

My work lives in two distinct worlds that constantly talk to each other: the vibrant surface of an image and the intimate scale of an object worn close to your skin. While my paintings are led by raw emotion, colour, and abstract expression, my jewellery is driven by touch, craft, and tactile form. Yet, they are deeply connected—the intricate line work, detailed iconography, and ancient cultural influences that flow through my visual art translate directly into the metal, enamel, and three-dimensional objects I create.

The Image as an Encounter

At the heart of my visual practice is abstract expressionism—bold gestures, energetic line work, and high-saturation colors that you feel before you even begin to name them. Working with acrylics on canvas, panel, and found wooden supports such as dough bowls and trays, alongside pen and ink, coloured pencil, and watercolour on their respective papers, I use abstraction to explore deeply personal and urgent themes: environmental conservation, LGBTQ+ identity, social justice, faith, and inner healing.

I love blending graphic energy with structural complexity. Influenced by Keith Haring's bold lines, M.C. Escher's spatial play, ancient cultures, and historical iconography, my work is layered with hidden imagery. What looks like an intense field of colour at first glance might reveal a hidden figure or symbol the longer you look. I keep those recognitions open so you can bring your own associations and story to the canvas.

Art in the Everyday

I believe art shouldn't just sit on a gallery wall—it should be part of daily life. Through fine art prints, hand-embellished prints, apparel, and studio goods, this abstract expressionist language takes on new life. Whether it’s a stroke of metallic ink added by hand to a print or a design on apparel moving through the world, these pieces let you bring creative energy into your everyday environment.

The Object and the Hand

When I step over to my metal-smithing bench, my focus shifts to something wonderfully tactile, yet the conversation with my visual art continues. You will find the exact same intricate line work, graphic imagery, and symbolic iconography from my two-dimensional and three-dimensional works echoed directly throughout my wearable pieces.

A major cornerstone of my jewellery practice is an extensive, multi-tiered collection inspired by coral reefs and ocean biomes. Working with copper, brass, bronze, silver, titanium, colourful enamels, wood, and stones, I use precise piercing and metalworking techniques to translate the delicate complexity of marine ecosystems into wearable sculptures. Rather than copying a reef literally, I draw from its wild textures, organic accumulation, and irregular beauty—using the biome as a visual metaphor for resilience, vulnerability, and strength. Craft isn't just how I make a piece; it's the core of the piece itself, shaping how metal catches light and settles comfortably against your body.

Two Languages, One Practice

Even though painting and jewellery-making use different tools, they share the same heart: a love for layered meaning, dynamic textures, shared iconography, and human connection. One speaks through expressive brushstrokes; the other speaks through tactile, wearable forms that carry those exact same visual threads.

This shop is designed as a welcoming home for my production jewellery, fine prints, apparel, and accessible studio creations. Original paintings, larger conceptual works, and custom commissions belong to my wider studio practice and are arranged separately through direct inquiry. Thank you for being here and taking the time to explore this work with me.
