Boreal Necklace

A bold square pendant in hand-sawed copper, riveted as a two-plate construction — 18g cutout top plate over a 20g copper back. The graphic pierced pattern draws from organic reef and coral forms, its surface deepened with a liver of sulphur patina that pools in the recesses and illuminates the raised texture. Suspended from a stainless steel rope chain at approximately 20–22 inches.

Larger in scale than its Forged Reef siblings Tethys and Oshun, Boreal carries a similar constructive logic — metal on metal, form through subtraction. A standalone piece. Part of Alloy Reef, Wesley Ethyn Bowers’ mixed-media jewellery line exploring material process and oceanic form.
